Join CATAP

CATAP membership is open to all professional's who work to prevent targeted violence between individuals through means of threat assessment and management.

Our members include law enforcement, criminal justice system officials, mental health practitioners, educators, school and campus public safety, corporate security, government officials and those engaged in research on threat assessment best practices, among others.

Membership Options

Regular Member

People may be allowed to join the Society as Regular Members if their education or training, past or current employment, or other experience directly involves the practice of threat assessment and management, contingent on any other requirements, limitations, or exceptions for membership decided by the Board Executive in its sole discretion from time to time.

Associate Member

People may be allowed to join the Society as Associate Members if they do not explicitly meet the criteria for a Regular Member but their education or training, past or current employment, or other experience can contribute to the mission of the Society, contingent on any other requirements, limitations, or exceptions for membership decided by the Board Executive in its sole discretion from time to time.

Student Member

People may be allowed to join the Society as Student Members if they are full-time students or trainees at a recognized post-secondary educational or vocational institution in Canada where they are enrolled in a program of studies that directly involves the practice of threat assessment and management, contingent on any other requirements, limitations, or exceptions for membership decided by the Board Executive in its sole discretion from time to time.

International Affiliate Member

People may be allowed to join the Society as International Affiliate Members if they are members in good standing of one of the Society’s designated sister organizations and wish to contribute to or participate formally in the operations or activities of the Society, contingent on any other requirements, limitations, or exceptions for membership decided by the Board Executive in its sole discretion from time to time.

Corporate Membership

Corporate bodies may be allowed to join the Society as Corporate Members if they are governmental, non-governmental, or private organizations whose activities directly involve the practice of threat assessment and management or can contribute to the mission of the Society, contingent on any other requirements, limitations, or exceptions for membership decided by the Board Executive in its sole discretion from time to time.
